World Cup 2026 · Group C · Matchday 2
Brazil settle it in one half
After a flat draw with Morocco, Brazil finally clicked. A Matheus Cunha double and a Vinícius Junior goal before half-time were enough for a 3-0 win over Haiti. The Seleção moved top of Group C, while the Grenadiers became the first team out.
How it unfolded
Cunha opened the scoring on 23 minutes after Vinícius forced a save, then smashed his second into the top corner on 36. In first-half stoppage time, Vinícius turned Paquetá’s pass into Brazil’s third.
Matheus Cunha, benched against Morocco, took his starting chance emphatically. His first two World Cup goals arrived within thirteen minutes.
What next
Brazil now face Scotland in Miami for top spot, hoping Neymar can return. Haiti close their campaign against Morocco.
Ancelotti’s tweaks restored Brazil’s favourite aura. The decisive group test still lies ahead.
